  1. Permanent deletion of all files and information on laptop with windows 10.

    Hello great swami's

I would like to gift my 2 in 1 laptop to someone but I need to make sure that all of my information ie, bank records, account numbers, various shall I say, risqué pictures of my girlfriend and cetera are permanently deleted from the computer. Does deleting everything and then reinstalling the Microsoft Windows 10 completely erase everything? If you do it more than one time, does that do the job? Can a hacker Access previously deleted material after doing all that? Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

How to Disable Permanently Delete Files

    Hi Andrew,

Whenever you delete a file or folder, Windows asks for your confirmation before moving it to Recycle Bin but Microsoft has removed this confirmation on some versions (Windows 8). Since you are using Windows 10, you can choose whether to have the file deleted
    permanently or not.

If you also want to re-enable delete confirmation dialog, kindly the follow the steps below:

    • Right click on the Recycle Bin.
    • Click on Properties, untick the option Don't move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted.
    • Click Ok to save the changes.

For any concerns, don't hesitate to get back to us.

    Regards.
