You can try the upgrade or clean install with the MSDN key again - just provide the error codes that you get n either Win 7 or 10 - I'm sure we can still get you digital entitlement.

Alright, it activated ok as always. I'll resurrect this thread when it inevitably throws it's toys out of the pram.

Ok so it took 2 days to reject the MSDN key this time. Note that this is a recent install of win10 from scratch (not upgraded), but ive already used one of the dodgy ebay keys on it which was rejected.

Seems your base activation that acquired digital entilement is corrupted...

    Go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\ClipSVC

There is a file named tokens.dat - take ownership of that and delete it - windows will rebuild it and attempt to activate with the original digital entlement from MS when online again.

ok, it replaced tokens.dat, but the error remains. Heres the results from showkeyplus

Sorry for getting back so late...

I'm busy getting to grips with the ClipSVC diagnostic report that licensingdiag outputs regarding digital licences - it's all gibberish to me at the moment in as far as it is way different to the Software licensing diagnostic reports that I'm familiar with.

Until I make head or tail of it, any troubleshooting will be pure guesswork as the error codes have changed as well.

BTW: What happens when you input the Win 7 key into the Change product key pop-up?

No worries I appreciate you taking the time to help me.

Ii booted the PC to enter the original key again, however windows has now decided that it is activated. I'm sure that later today or tomorrow it will change its mind again (this has happened before). When it does I'll enter the 7 key again and let you know.

Ok it decided i didn't have digital entitlement again this evening so I re-entered the original 7 key. This time I got an error straight away:

Do you think, that even though this is a legitimate key that only I've used, I've had it so long, and It just has too many different pc builds associated with it?

Is there a finite number of times you can use a win7/10 key before the activation hotline code stops working?
