Persistent ntoskernel BSODs on Win 10 64 - various bugchecks

    Hey all,

I've been having random blue screens on my PC for a while now and was wondering if anyone could help me out.

    Minidump.7z - Google Drive

There's a link to all the minidumps since November. The most recent 5 are BSODs on startup from Driver Verifier being active.

The minidump from 1/7/2017 - 2:14:48pm (9437) is the only BSOD I got after running verifier and restarting before verifier itself prevented me from booting into windows with those 5 most recent BSODs.

The BSOD 9437 happened almost immediately after logging into Windows.

All the other previous ones happened at random times during different activities and I can't find a common event that may have triggered them. I'm assuming they are related to a driver, but am not knowledgeable about BSOD dumps.

My PC's specs are as follows:

    BLACK.txt - Google Drive

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

EDIT: Added zip file from Tenforums tool.

    :)

  2. BSOD ntoskrnl.exe+16c3f0. Five times in the last week.

I'm interested in what your BSOD is telling you. Just from what I see, you seem to be having a problem with the ntoskernel, but here are other ways to examine the minidump. Microsoft provides a very efficient method without the need of external chants
    and vapors.

What does your BSOD say to you? What is the exception error message there?

Recently, I have countered several BSODs when I'm not using my computer. Because of that, I have no idea what were the error messages. Can you help me with it? Here is the DMP file:

That was quick. Unfortunately it appears you have a illegal installation of Windows 10 and or other software. Please correct this by installing and activating legal copies. If you then get any more BSODs, run DM_Log_collector and upload the zip file and I'll be happy to take a look at it.

Is there anything that could be causing the BSODs besides the invalid windows key? Unfortunately I upgraded from Win 7 to 10 with the free key, and since then had to replace my motherboard which caused Windows to think it is a new PC and MS support refuses to help me with this problem, so for the foreseeable future I won't be spending an additional 200 dollars on yet another Windows installation.

I would like to help but I'm bound by the forum rules. No support for non legal installations or software.

MS is usually more accommodating than what you are seeing. Might want to try phone activation again and see if you can get better results.

Alright, I'll try phone activation. Are you versed in the activation procedure for the upgrade from 7 to 10? I read that you can apparently tie your product key to your Microsoft account now after the Anniversary Update came out, allowing you to change as much hardware as you like on the PC and not have it be deactivated.

Do you know if there is a way to do that without having to wipe this install, install 7, upgrade to 10, and then tie it to my account?

Could I install 7 on a VM with my key and upgrade that to 10 and then tie it to my account and authorize this install and delete the VM?

    Does that make sense?

I don't know but I doubt running in a VM will allow that to work. Let me see if I can get someone who is real knowledgeable about this to check in here.
@NavyLCDR, if you get this notification, can you answer the activation question?

You cannot do that because when the digital license for Windows 10 is tied to your Microsoft account, it also stores the computer type it was installed on - I don't know what all the device types but on my account I have laptops, PCs, and tablets listed. I don't use VM's but they would be listed as a different device type (people have tried moving licenses from VMs to PCs and it doesn't work).

So....if you have a valid Windows 7 product key you will face one of two situations if you attempt to active the same version of Windows 10 that the Windows 7 would upgrade to:

    1. Install Windows 10 without a product key. If it does not activate, you can go to the activation page under settings, change product key and enter your Windows 7 product key.

    2. If #1 above does not activate Windows 10, then the likely reason is that your Windows 7 product key has been block by Microsoft from automatic online activation. You cannot activate Windows 10 via phone activation using a Windows 7 product key. So, you will have to do a clean install of Windows 7. You can do it to just a separate partition and leave the Windows 10 partition, but you cannot use a VM. After you get a clean install of Windows 7 activated using phone activation then I would suggest you upgrade that Windows 7 to Windows 10. But, after you get Windows 7 activated on that computer using the phone, you can try going back to Windows 10 and entering the Windows 7 product key and it might take it since it has now been reassigned to that computer.
