Windows 10: Photo App wont start on Win 10

Greetings from East Haven Connecticut.


A couple of weeks ago, for some unexplained reason, none of the pictures on my Picture file won't open. Instead, I would get an error message saying the photo app won't start.


For several days I tried various suggestions from Google, YouTube and indeed even sought tech support but none worked.


In desperation, I decided to completely uninstall the app and replace it with something else which I was reluctant to do but it seemed the only logical option so in preparation I opened my Revo Unins Pro 4.0 and selected the Photo App listed under Windows App and proceeded to uninstall the same.


After doing a restart and to satisfy my curiosity, I decided to download the Photo App again and would you know it, IT OPENED! It worked!!!


Uninstalling the App completely meaning "cleanly"; no files left, cured the problem (for me at least)

photo app in windows 10 wont load

my photo app wont open, and I cant uninstall it for it does not come up in the apps list in the settings. But it is in the all apps list.

When I have tried to reinstall it from playstore it says already installed. But wont open, and the new Twinui default photo view app wont open any jpeg files it say "class not registered".

I have followed other suggestions of troubleshooting, and system scan with no results.

Any suggestions?

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

• Go to settings and system.
  
• Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.
  

Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

• Open the　Start　menu, type　Windows PowerShell　in the search bar.
  
• Right click on the　Windows　PowerShell　and select　Run as　administrator.
  
• Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.
  

• 　　get-appxpackage　　*Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage

Photos are opening with Paint instead of Photos app
