  1. PhotoEd.exe on Windows 10, pretty please!

    There are many posters like me on the internet that love ONLY the old, basic, reliable, simple to use, PhotoEd application. Microsoft phased it out in stages long ago. When queried, inadequate responses include:

    * Why don't you try "X" instead? It's <better> <newer> <more capable> <etc. etc.>

    * Try the Troubleshooter

    * Provide me a bunch of information about your system <when bought> <what else is installed> <run compatibility mode> <etc. etc.>

    * What error messages do you get

    * How did you install it

    The issue is, Microsoft knows full well what the issue is. All the Q&A is just a smokescreen.

    For those of us who love PhotoEd we know to copy the folder of PhotoEd files that we have saved to the 32 bit pathname, namely:

    C:\Program Files x86\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\PhotoEd

    In the past this was enough; launch the executable and PhotoEd works. But with the latest Windows 10 the registry keys have been removed as well. Most of us consider it risky to edit registry keys to fix the problem - even if we knew what they were.

    So, my request is simple. How could we convince Microsoft to facilitate return of the good old PhotoEd that works SO WELL for us? For extra credit, just cut to the chase and give us an installation package so that we don't have to keep saving the files ourselves, remembering the pathname where they go, and/or editing the registry?

    I would really appreciate it!

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Method 2:

    I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
