Windows 10: Photos app gets an error when saving: Oops, we couldn't save that one

This just started. I checked the folder permissions & they look ok, and other apps, like Adobe Photoshop Express work fine. I tried troubleshooting, did the repair & reset with no change. I tried removing and reinstalling via PowerShell as admin and Get-appxPackage and Add-AppxPackage, without any errors, but I'm not sure it really replaced the app.


Looking in c:\Program File\WindowsApps I see

-a---- 9/24/2018 6:40 PM 479232 Microsoft.Photos.exe

so it looks pretty new in any case.


I normally run in a local, non-admin account, but I did try it from an admin account and got the same error.


What should I try next? Are there some other files or folders I need to check permission on?

Saving Issue with Photos

When I open a photo in with the built-in Photos app in Windows 10, I edit the photo with the filters. However, when using
Save a copy, I chose a location and hit save, but it won't save. I get an error saying
Oops, we could save that one.

The photo dimensions are fairly big (JPEG, 5 MB, 3840 x 2560). I wonder if that has anything to do with it or if there is a size limit when using this app to be able to save an image?

 

Saving photos

First, congratulations on being one of the first folks to get the elusive Samsung ATIV S.

Would you please elaborate as to what app you're using to view photos and what steps you're taking in order to save the photos?

For instance, if I'm in the People hub and see a pic someone posted that I want to save to my phone:

• I simply tap on the photo and it brings it to another screen.
• Then I tap the ellipses (...) at the bottom of the screen and choose save to phone.
• Next, I go back to my Start screen and tap on Photos.
• Tap on albums.
• Tap on Save Pictures.
• My latest photo that I saved should be there at the top.

windows 10 photos "oops! we couldn't save this one"

I have many photo files that don't seem to be editable by the windows Photos app. I own the file and have full permission on it but when I edit the file and click save I get a pop up that says "Oops! We couldn't save that one."
