Windows 10: Picture shrinkage with KVM

I have a minor annoyance I’m hoping someone might be able to help me with. I have a 4 switch KVM (Rosewill PKV-4UC) switching an ASUS VE278H 27” monitor between, at a minimum, My main system call it System #1, (ASUS MB) and my main Test setup, call it System #2, (Gigabite MB). Both systems are running W10 Pro, Build 16299.547. Updates appear to be current on both systems.
The problem is when I toggle away from system #2. When I toggle back to system #2, all open windows are moved to the left of their previous positions. See the attached screen shots.

Another example is of my virtual machines.

This started on both systems after updating to 1709 last year. Just recently, system #1 has stopped shrinking after toggling away and back. Both systems seem to have successfully installed the same updates since June, which is before System #1 started behaving normally again. Anybody have any ideas?

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

Good KVM Switch for Gaming

Does anyone have a suggestion for a gaming KVM switch. I have a system I do all my standard computing on and I'm currently building a gaming system. I want to get a KVM switch because I don't have the money or space for a new monitor. Are there any KVM switches that work exceptionally between standard and gaming systems, without losing video quality and performance???

I don't think it is Windows 10 caused the issues but the design concept of the KVM switches with those cases. I had using ConnectPRO Plus serial KVM switches with Windows 10 systems for a long time, and I never experienced the resolutions resizing issues.

Most of KVM switches in market are designed with emulation-base technology in devices sharing including for sharing the monitor, so when the more advanced OS, like Windows 10, is upgraded to those emulation-base KVM switch will have difficult in emulating
/fitting the timing to the systems upgrade to Windows 10 which monitoring the I/O hot-plug and connected devices' status all the time.

I don't like to give suggestion of just changing the KVM switch and find a KVM switch based on DDM technology, but looks like there is no other solution then using more advanced KVM switches based on the DDM technology (Dynamic Device Mapping). Of you
may want to using an EDID emulator putting it between each connected PC/system and your old KVM switch to keep feeding the EDID of your monitor to the Windows 10 PC/system.
