I would think they will have to take over tech support for upgrades. If you buy a PC with Windows 10 factory installed though your back to calling the manufacturer for tech support.

Agreed there is also noise on the net about taking the cell carries out of the loop on upgrades because they drag there feet too long even for security fixes.

I have no problem with MS offering me updates or even upgrades. I would probably install most if not all of them. Just give me the choice of installing them or not installing them. To me this would be a win win for MS and the users. I wouldn't let my wife tell me what to do with my computer and I'm certainly not going to let MS do it. Yes it is their OS and they can do with it what they like. Just not on my computer. I like Windows 7and Windows 8.1.1 so it wouldn't be a problem for me to downgrade. Windows 10 was looking better and better with every new release. It's a shame MS wants to ruin it.

You're jumping to conclusions before we've seen how it works in the real world. Do you have a problem with Chrome forcing you to upgrade it when a new version comes out? Do you have a problem when your phone forces an update?

If everything works correctly, then what's the issue? I know you think it won't work correctly, but why assume that before it's even had a chance to prove that the new model is good or bad?

. . .OMG. . . the sky is falling, the sky is falling. . .look out everyone Microsoft is going t make the sky fall. . .Oh wait you really mean I don't have to use Windows 10, here I thought it was a requirement that all folks in the whole world had to use, or move to Windows 10 or our computers would just stop working even my Mac. . .how silly of me. . .*Party

Mystere, I don't know why but your post came up for a few seconds even though you're on my ignore list. You once asked me not to put words in your mouth. Now I'm asking that you to not tell me what I'm thinking. We will never see eye to eye so if you would please put me on your ignore list.

You paying? *Smile I have no desire to own a mac. I have used Linux years ago and driver support was very limited. I like Windows. I even like Windows 10. I just don't like the idea of MS not allowing us to choose what updates we install. The sky is not fall and the world is not going to stop spinning just because of Windows 10. As for worrying about the changes. It's better to speak up now then wait til it's to late. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease. *Smile

MS is trying to take over the world..no wait that's Google.*Biggrin.I will take any update that they send to me. The only way is to purchase a Business License. Business's will have a choice we will not. If you don't like the way MS is doing this then stay with Seven or Xp or whatever.

Right now I'm about 90% for upgrading to Windows 10 and 10% for going back to Windows 8.1.1. At one time I was 100% for upgrading to 10. If I do decide to upgrade to 10 I'm not going to upgrade all my computers like I originally planned.

That is the way I read it too. *Sad

They won't care, until their device is bricked.
