  1. Pin/Unpin is missing from right click context menu

I have exactly the same problem as joeyTribbiani, can't pin, unpin, modify my icons (position, size), or change the group names, actually i cant do anything to personalize the start menu, and some icons have dissapeared leaving just a blank space, I have almost 1 month with this problem, but this is the first time that I see someone else having this problem, no one says anything about this, and I have tried almost every solution:
    - Already scanned with powershell, and got that no problems were registered.
    - Changed theme to default
    - Uninstalled avast antivirus
    - Restarted (way too many times)
    - Updates are up to date
    - Did the App Count, its 196 (So the 532 limit is way above my count)
    - Did safe boot without the network option
    - And did KeithM solution without luck. (Although under HKCU the folder "Explorer" didnt exist, so i created one, created the registry in there and checked the value as 0, and still no luck)
If i find a solution I'll post it back in here, so please if you do too, mention it in this thread, because i havent found any other one mentioning this same problem.
P.S. By the way, another weird thing that I noticed is that under Settings > Personalization > Start, the option "Show more Tiles" is grayed out, and it is turned off by default, so I cant change it to on.

What do you see if you click on More? That's where I see the Pin option along with a few others.

  3. Same as you. But I dont want to "pin to taskbar" I want to "pin to start". And the pin/unpin to start is not there (nor anywhere else).

  4. Pin/Unpin is missing from right click context menu

As you said FigueroaMX, under CurrentUser there were no "explorer"-value. And under the CurrentMachine there is no NoChangesStartMenu. Maybe if I create those. But what type should the NoChangesStartMenu be?

  5. I created the values in the registry according to KeithM. Created NoChangeStartMenu as DWORD and hex value 0. But still no luck. I will post if I find a solution. I think we are not the only ones with this problem.

  8. Pin/Unpin is missing from right click context menu

Does anyone know exactly what registry entries that is needed for the menu-options " pin/unpin to startmenu " in the right-click (context-menu).
As Ive written, they are missing. There is no pin/unpin-options. I have 3-4 more windows10 pc and they are working so I know exactly where they should appear and how to use them when they are there. But they are missing.
I thought that if I know exactly what entries that is needed for those options to appear in the menu I could see if any is missing in my registry.

Save yourself some time and download a file that does it for you.

[Fix] Pin To Start Option Missing In Windows - The Winhelponline Blog

The site has other awesome files to download which has saved me future time as I have been searching for 'show more tiles' answer for 12 hours, and found this legend file which turns the right values from 0 to 1 or 1 to 0 !!!

Stop searching regedit and gpedit and download the file there is no virus, so you can go to bed. *Smile

  14. I tried that manually too, and it did work anyway with this file.
Dunno if this can help you, the steps that I did were the following:
    1- Downloaded the reg file
2- Ran it, and accept everything
3- Went to the start menu, and everything was the same (the problem wasnt solved)
4- I ran the reg file again and accepted everything.
5- Restarted the pc (without checking the start menu)
6- Login and checking that the start menu worked again.
Give it a try, i thought it wouldnt work either, but it did.

Thanks, Sonicx and FigueroaMX for the good laugh. *Roflmao2*Roflmao2*Roflmao2

It's so easy to assume that if the name's not gender specific, it's just gotta be a male. I know, I got caught in the same trap of thinking a gal was a guy. And, of course, is gender specific.

What I love about TenForums is that everyone here just accepts that we gals know what we're talking about when we type. *Smile
