Windows 10: Ping timeout despite working Internet?

Hello,

i have the problem that i have been struggling with my internet for some time now.

In general, it works fine, but it happens again and again that pages don't load at first and I can't connect, for example in online games.

Another anomaly is the above mentioned timeout when I want to ping from the command line.

I can ping my router and get <1ms, any other IP results in the timeout.

I have already rebooted the router, set it up again, tried it over WLAN and LAN and allowed file sharing on ipv4 in the advanced settings of the Windows Firewall under the incoming rules.

Ipv6 is disabled.

To add to that, I'm going to get a university network.

I live in the dormitory and have a LAN connection to access the internet. I have bought a router so that I can use WLAN.

How to change the Screen Timeout settings

I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• 
  Right click on the desktop and click on Personalization.
  
• 
  Click on Lock screen
  
• 
  On the bottom of the screen click on Screen Timeout.
  
• 
  Under screen select the Time period accordingly.

Regions speech not available despite correct language pack install

The issue still remains unresolved, as English (Australia) simply does not show up in the list despite following all suggested steps to date (which I had done previously)

After some testing, this seems to explain your issue. I have tested pinging example.com, wich replies between 70-85ms for me. When setting timeout to 80ms, some pings fail, and some don't. So, somewhere below 80ms starts to be "very small".
