Windows 10: PLEASE do something about Windows 10 forgetting keyboard layout shortcuts

This bug has been plaguing people for ages I've had it even on windows 7! and there have never been any updates on it.

The gist is that windows seems to forget the keyboard shortcuts set to individual keyboard layouts randomly and for no apparent reason.


This bug is a severe nuisance and there seems to be no fix. I have personally tried everything: changing the language settings, the administrative settings, resetting the Human Interface Service, manually restoring the corresponding registry keys even !, every single thing there is and isn't. I have also experienced it on three different systems so it's definitely on the OS side.


Please, escalate this bug so that the system can finally be conveniently used by people who use multiple languages. It really CAN'T be that difficult to find and fix. Thanks

How to change the default keyboard layout shortcut.

Hi,

I would like to inform you that presently you may change the default keyboard layout by pressing
Windows key + space and I would like to inform you that it is not possible to change the keyboard shortcut for the keyboard layout.

• If you would like to create shortcut for the applications, please follow the below steps:
• Right click on the application and select properties.
• Enter a key combination in the Shortcut key field. The combination must be CTRL + ALT + a letter / number.

Cannot remove Keyboard Layout

Hi,

It is possible that you need to configure your keyboard layout that is why you still see it in the list even you already remove it. To address your issue, we suggest that you follow the steps on this

thread provided by DikkeryDok last October 27, 2017 to remove the specific keyboard layout you are referring to.

Windows 10 commands/shortcuts/env. var.

Keyboard shortcuts to open programs:

Create a shortcut on the desktop to whatever program you want. Right click -> Properties and fill in the field there. Sadly the shortcut needs to remain on the desktop, but you can hide it.

Fun fact: If you had keyboard shortcuts for programs pinned to your Windows 7 start menu, those shortcuts still work when you update to Windows 10.
