    Please help! DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION plaguing my laptop.


    Hello. I’ve reset my PC with the “Fully Clean Drive” option and partway through installing Windows 10, a BSOD with the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION has appeared. I feel like I’ve literally tried everything to fix this error and this was kind of my last resort. I’ve even gone as far as purchasing a new SSD and creating a clean install of Windows 10 with a Windows Media Installation thing on a flash drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’ve been struggling with this for weeks now. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Mattie,

    The DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION blue screen error can be caused by a variety of hardware, firmware, driver, or software issues. Now, you mentioned that you already changed the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers to standard. Did you update the driver as well? And also,
    are you getting the same blue screen error when you play other games? Or is it only occurring when you play a particular game?

    For the mean time, if you haven't tried any further troubleshooting steps, we suggest that you perform the suggested steps from this article:
