Windows 10: Please help i can't boot to win 10

Hey i've just updated my asus a555ln laptop from win 8.1 to win 10...
Everything went nice with drivers automatically installed but the display drivers is lost.
So i've installed the intel hd drivers and it does nothing so i installed nvidia drivers and it just fine.
But after that, when i open settings,it keep closing,when i open edge it closing too.
So i turned off my laptop and later i turned it on again and i can't boot to win 10

Please help me how to solve it :'(

I can't get to a startup boot Menu in Windows 10. Going into settings doesnt help.

In WIN 8.1 I could boot to CD/DVD. In WIN 10 I can't. Even going to settings / recovery/ startup and selecting the DVD drive it still boots into WIN 10 and not the CD. In Dell BIOS I moved ODD to first boot order, no help! Any suggestions?

 

Will upgrading to Win 10 from Win7 cause me to lose XP Partition?

I have a Dual Boot configuration. Windows XP on one partition and Windows 7 on another partition on the same Hard Drive. I want to upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10, but leave Win XP (The Main Operating System from which I had installed Win 7). I want to be able
to select between Win XP and Win 10 in Boot Manager on boot up.
(currently it is Win XP and Win 7).

Will upgrading to Win 10 from Win7 cause me to lose Win XP Partition?

I have an Intel Pentium Dual Core Desktop PC. Please help.

Do you have any kind of recovery DVD/Drive made or Windows 10 install USB/DVD? Boot from that, select troubleshoot or repair, then advance options, then startup settings, then safe mode.

In safe mode, go to device manager and delete your video driver and go back to Microsoft basic display driver.

A less than elegant way to get into safe mode is to interrupt the boot process by holding down the power key when you get to the Windows icon with the rotating circles until the computer powers off. After either 3 or 5 interrupted boot cycles, Windows will boot into safe mode automatically.

I have 2 display graphics options i've done as you said and i removed the nvidia display graphics but it still like before so should i uninstall the microsoft basic display driver ?

 

Can you boot into Windows now, or is it just settings and edge that keep closing? If you can boot and log into Windows now you will want to right click on the start icon, select Device Manager, select the Microsoft Basic Adapter, right click, and try to update the driver automatically while connected to the internet.

I suppose you could probably do the same thing if you boot into safe mode with networking.

If you can't boot into Windows with the display driver set to the Microsoft Basic Driver, then the display driver is probably not the problem. What exactly do you mean by can't boot into windows? Where does it fail, and do you get any errors? You can try updating the display driver in safe mode, but I doubt that will fix the problem.

 

Okay i think i solved this by resetting windows,,but i lost all of my apps:'(
Then i installed the intel hd drivers and it works normally...
But i still in afraid to install nvidia drivers because i think it will make that problem again, so it is safe to install the nvidia drivers right now ?

What brand/model graphics card are you trying to use?

 

It's nvidia geforce gt840m

 

Are you getting the Nvidia driver from the Asus website?

In windows 10 sections,there are no nvidia drivers but in windows 8.1 sections there is available so is it okay if i download from windows 8.1 sections ?

 

I assume you are looking under the lx-5xxxU cpu section?

First, what display driver did Windows 10 install on the refresh? If it is working fine with something other than Microsoft Basic Display adapter, why do want to change it?

Asus not offering a Windows 10 driver for that particular notebook with that particular processor when they do offer a Windows 10 driver for the same notebook model with the LX-4xxxU CPU would indicate to me that they want you to use the driver that Windows 10 picks for it.

 

After resetting,windows used the microsoft basic display and then i installed the 5500 driver which i downloaded from intel website,,and then it works fine after some reboot the gt840m drivers is automatically installed so is it solved right now ? *Smile
