Windows 10: Pls help me with restore to 7

Discus and support Pls help me with restore to 7 in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; Ok. I'll need a little time. I finished what I was doing, but I decided to try to save my data to the external hard drive .. especially pictures and music.     Ok ..... If you have problems trying to save those files, then you need to run chkdsk .

    When you wanted me to run that it was to help me be able to save my data? If I can save the data then I don't do the steps you told me to? Sorry. I'm confused.

    You need to check your C- Drive for errors, 1st. As it sounds like you have hard drive issues.

    Ok.

    Boy, it seems like I'm buying a hard drive every year and a half or so ... *Sad

    My pc was fine until that Windows 10 upgrade. be back soon.

    No matter if you try and save some personal files or not, you NEED to RUN CHKDSK command from ADMIN Command prompt.
    chkdsk /f C:
    This could solve your hard drive problems ...if it can repair any errors it finds. *Smile

    Ok so I right clicked on Start and clicked on command prompt (admin). I typed in chkdsk /f C: (that's a space after k and after F yes?) What came up was:

    "fsutilext.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing program using original installation media or contact system admin/fendor"

    Error - 0xc0012f

    So a friend just called. I told him what was happening. He said to boot up in safe mode and try system restore that way. Does this make sense to you?

    I'm going offline for 2 or 3 hours.

    You were suppose to type that command EXACTLY like I posted it to you.....Copy and paste if you can't type it the way I showed you ok ... chkdsk /f C:

    If chkdsk won't run, even safe mode won't help - it's not driver dependent, so dunno if that would make a difference... file (as opposed to file-system) corruption can only be restored with a new install (perhaps sfc ) - repair or clean.

    Something's horribly wrong on that system.

    Yes because it just took me about 40 mins to get to my desktop. This happened yesterday twice.

    That 2nd Screen is where you should have typed the letter Y HIT your ENTER KEY then reboot...
