Windows 10: Poeple App

I've been trying the new photos people face recognition app and it seems quite inconsistent/ One time it works OK and now it doesn't work at all. I've had it running for several days and its not collected a single face. I've tried turning it on and off, uninstalling and reinstalling. no luck Same across another PC

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

Follow the Methods below and check if that helps.

Method 1: Check if there are any app updates pending for People App. If yes, please install them and check if it helps. You may also install all available Windows Updates.

Method 2: If that does not help, you may convert the Microsoft account to a Local account and back to Microsoft account and check if you are then able to run the apps:

To convert the account, you can do the following:

• 
  Sign in to your Microsoft account on Windows 10.
  
• 
  Click Start and then PC settings.
  
• 
  Click Users and accounts and under Your Profile click Disconnect on the right of the screen.
  
• 
  Enter your Microsoft account's password, and click on Next.
  
• 
  Type in a Username, Password, and Password Hint that you want set for your Local account and click
  Next. Click on Sign out and Finish button.
  
  In order to switch back, follow these steps:
  

• 
  On the newly converted Local account, click Start and then PC Settings.
  
• 
  Click Users and accounts and under Your Profile click Connect to a Microsoft account.
  
• 
  Enter the Microsoft account ID and Password and click Next.
  
• 
  Choose if you want OneDrive as your default file saving location, click Next.
  
• 
  Click Switch.
  

Run the app troubleshooter again and check. Refer the first response for app troubleshooter. Do let us know if you are able to open people app. Thank you.

  Have you made any changes to your computer settings prior to this issue?

Check for the latest updates on your PC and install them.



I would suggest you to perform a SFC Scan and check if it helps.

Note: While performing SFC Scan I would recommend you to make sure that there are no applications or programs running on the back ground.
