  1. Pop-up appears after booting - "Restart required to update audio drivers"

    1. Look closely at the top left corner of the pop-up. It will say "Audio Drivers"
    2. You will have 2 options - OK and Cancel. CANCEL.
    3. Check your audio drivers via Device Manager. You will find that the drivers are up to date.
    4. You will NOT find anything suspicious in the usual places.

Whatever you do DO NOT click on OK. This is an infection. I tried scanning with SuperAntispyWare, Malewarebytes, Spybot S%D, Trend Micro, Eset… Nothing worked or identified the problem. There are only two ways to fix this:

    1. Go to a restore point prior to the infection.
    2. Go here - https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/ - download the cleaner and the infection will be removed.

    :)

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Pop-up appears after booting - "Restart required to update audio drivers" :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
