  1. Portable USB Seagate Hard drive - appears to have loaded BUT not accessible to use on my PC ?

    Hi Hoping someone can help..

I have a Seagate Backup Plus PortableDrive MODEL srd00f1 which is working fine, on my old macpowerbook But I need to transfer work, text and videos, to my PC laptop LenovoThinkPad which is running Windows 10 Pro version 1909 BUT theexternal drive does not seem to be accessible on PC, although it doesshow as being there when I check for devices. Screen grab attached. I have updated drivers etc but no joy.

Admit I am an old school Mac user, so Iexpect the external drives to pop up on desktop, easily accessible

On PC, although when I connect /disconnect the external drive from PC, I hear the 'dings' as if acknowledging USB is connecting and disconnecting there is nothing visible, on desktop or anywhere else and no option availableto Save As to any other drive but the built in. Although as screengrab shows itdoes appears to be recognised as a device on PC, I cant find it touse!! Any advice?

I know in old days used to have to format drive forspecific use for either mac or Pc but surprised if that is the case BUT if it is & I have to purchase a new externaldrive, I will need it to switch between this PC and an old Mac .. one of thefirst 17" powerbooks, now too oldto connect to internet securely,, hence the need for the PC laptop and tobe able to move video files between the two. Any advice or recommendations ?

    Thank you

  2. Drive F no longer Visible or Accessible in This PC

My Device Manager Lists the following Disk Drives on my ACPI x64-based PC:

    Generic- Compact Flash USB Device

    Generic- MS/MS-Pro USB Device

    Generic- SD/MMC USB Device

    Generic- xD-Picture USB Device

    SanDisk Cruzer Glide USB Device

SEAGATE FA GoFlex Desk USB Device

    ST2000DM 001-1ER154 SCSI Disk Device

It also lists two DVD/CD-ROM drives:

HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NSB0 SCSI CdRom Device

hp CDDVDW SH-215DB SCSI CdRom Device

The SEAGATE FA GoFlex Desk USB Device has been listed as Portable Device:
F GoFlex Desk since the system was inaugurated several years ago.
But for the past week the F Drive was not listed under This PC.
Instead, the Portable Devices are listed as:

    G:\

    H:\

    I: \

    J:\

    L:\

My obvious question is why the SEAGATE FA GoFlex Desk USB Device is neither recognized by Device Manage as a Disk Drive by nor longer recognized as a Portable Device and therefore neither visible nor accessible under This PC?

  3. External Seagate Drive not appearing after Creators Update

We appreciate the feedback, Pete. Getting in touch with Seagate support is one of your options. They may have recent or updated drivers for your external hard drive. In the meantime, since the hard drive is detected again when you unplug and replug it, we
suggest that you try changing the drive letter and its path and see if it addresses the issue. Follow the steps below:

    • Right-click the Windows key and click Computer Management.
    • Under Storage, click Disk Management.
    • Find your Seagate External Hard Drive, right-click it and select
      Change Drive Letter and Paths
      .
    • Click on Change and select the letter for the drive.
    • Click OK, close all windows, then restart your computer.

Should the issue persists, then we suggest sharing your experience with us through our Feedback Hub. To access the Feedback Hub, follow the steps below:

    • Click the Windows key.
    • Look for Feedback Hub, then click it.
    • In the left pane, click Feedback.
Let us know should you need further help.

    Regards.

    Regards.

  4. Portable USB Seagate Hard drive - appears to have loaded BUT not accessible to use on my PC ?

    Seagate hard drive

I have seagate portable hard drive and it is not connecting with Windows 10. It was able to connect 2 weeks ago. It states a portable is connect and unable to open. I have checked with seagate and there is no new hard drive updates to sort out the issue.
But I am able to use it when I connect to a different computer why dose Windows 10 have these issues. Even when I for a reason why I am been told that there are issue and what the issues but Windows 10 state that there is no issues and the portable hard drive
is working correctly. I think I should go back to an older software and not Windows 10.
