    Possible dying GPU?

    Hi,

A while ago, while I was gaming on my laptop, I noticed suddenly my laptop screen, and secondary monitor, went black, then came back on, then went black again, then my game froze. I do not have too good of a GPU and was wondering if there's a possibility of it dying. My laptop is about 3 years old and the GPU is an IntelR HD Graphics 620, and I'm quite sure it is integrated. All I'm wanting to know is if it could be dying or not. Thanks!

    :)

I would like to suggest 2 more things if you don't mind,
    1. Seat the GPU in another slot, if possible, and see if that helps anything
    2. Use the GPU in another system, if possible, this is a step to determine that it is really the GPU and not multiple defective slots or something else from the system.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    GPU

    Hi Michael

Open Device Manager (accessible by right clicking your Start Button)

    Expand the Display Adapters section

You should see your GPU listed, along with possibly an integrated graphics option

If that is no listed there:

Boot into BIOS (start your system, then on the manufacturers screen, repeatedly press the appropriate key (usually F2) to enter BIOS

Under System Information, you should find your GPU listed

If you still cannot find the GPU listing, what is the Make and exact Model No. of your PC - that will be printed on a sticker on the bottom casing . ..
