Hello,I just bought and installed a new Ryzen 7 7700x CPU, an Aorus B650 Elite AX ICE, and some G.skill DDR5 16gb sticks 2 of them, and I've been having many strange issues as of recent. I have a Samsung 980 nvme 1tb SSD as my boot drive, a few other ssds and hdds, and a Nvidia 4070, which I had over from my old build. I did a full wipe of the boot drive, and reinstalled windows. Even after that, my computer freezes on install of programs such as Nvidia's driver software, and it gets stuck on opening whatsapp, freezes in certain places Clicking on certain settings on Microsoft settings

New mobo, cpu and ram, same old os help

Either my mobo or my cpu are not working. After removing, reseting, changing PSU, I cannot get even a single beep from post boot. The system is 10 year old so I decided to get new parts. New CPU, new mobo, new PSU and new ram. I really badly want to keep my old win 10 os. Is this possible and if so, what steps do I need to take to make it work successfully? Edit, I purchased the same Manu of mobo if that helps.

  3. Changing my MOBO and CPU a

I'm doing PC upgrades and changes entirely for my new mini-itx build.

I'm not sure about how the process would work, but what are the appropriate steps I need to undertake before making my changes?

    • My personal data and files are backed up to my Onedrive, and have nothing to lose in terms of data.
    • I have an additional copy of Windows 10 (but would prefer not to use it in-case I do another PC build).
    • My MOBO and CPU upgrades are polar opposites of my current hardware:
      • OLD HARDWARE
        • Intel i5 6500
        • AsRock Killer MOBO
      • New Hardware
        • AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
        • Asus Strix X-470
This is my first time doing a particular change so guiding steps would be greatly appreciated! Things like how to wipe my hard-drive and reinstall Windows, etc.

Changing my MOBO and CPU a

You will have to buy windows license if you change the motherboard, unless you made the computer originally in the first place, or bought a license key.
