  1. possible registry corruption

Hi, so today I installed a trial version of Vegas video editing software. I tried it out and, it wasn't what I was expecting so I immediately uninstalled it. After uninstalling it I saw all the files still in my C drive so I went and did a system restore. Unfortunately it got stuck, so I force restarted my laptop and, once it booted up it gave me a message saying the restore did not succeed.

So, then I tried to restore windows 10 from the command prompt by entering - Dir C:\win

Doing this confirmed that windows is stored on my C drive. It also listed the System, Security, Sam, Software and Default files

    Next I ran the command - cd /C Q:\windows\System32\config
    Then - xcopy *.* Q:\MyRegBack\
    Then - cd RegBack
    Then - dir

I examined the dates and they were for today

    Then when I copy /y software ..

And - copy /y System ..And - copy /y Sam

It gave me an error can't find file and also bbi sharing violation

So I tried to run the first command again - Dir C:\win

but it gave me this result - C:\WINDOWS\system32>dir c:\win

Volume in drive C is Windows 0

    Volume Serial Number is CCBA-D77

Directory of C:\ file not found

I'm worried if I turn off my computer I'm going to have a problem - can anyone help.

    :)

  2. Corrupted registry

    Hi,

Your concern occurs due to some corruption on your system files. We suggest that you try the methods below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Perform System File Checker (sfc) scan.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. To perform this, follow the steps on this link.
Steps mentioned on the link for Windows 8 and 8.1, will work fine with Windows 10.

    Method 2: Run DISM commands.

Follow the steps below on how to run the DISM commands:

    • Press Windows + X on your keyboard.

    • Select Command prompt (Admin) to open Administrator Command Prompt .

    • In the Command Prompt, type the following commands. Press the Enter key after each command.

      dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

      dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Reply to us with the status of your issue. We will be happy to assist you.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
