    I received a call in which my own phone number was displayed on my caller id screen, informing me that my IP address has been compromised by several entities. I was instructed to call Microsoft and to press a particular number on my phone key pad to connect with "Microsoft support". Is this a scam?

    • Which Microsoft website have you visited?
    • What is the phone number that you have contacted?
    • What is the make and model of the computer?

    As already mentioned:

    All these kind of pop-ups/alerts are fake warnings - scams. Never ever call these numbers.

    You might want to run a quick scan with your Anti-Virus program.

    But... Even without seeing your image it is clear that:

    Yes, these fake alerts are well known so-called Tech support scams.

    Suggestion to read the below post to learn how to deal with these Fake alerts, especially while using Edge...


    In addition you might also want to read these, IMO, interesting and enlightening articles and I'd also make sure to get a good advertisment blocker. I, personally, use uBlock Origin.:
