Windows 10: Power Kernel 41 Error, During Gaming, Possibly Software?

I have the same issue with a brand new computer. Happened on the first day I owned it and will randomly happen twice a day, or sometimes go 3-5 days before resetting.

Dealing with HP is a hassle since they have no idea what to do beyond reinstalling windows and downloading drivers. It's a pretty bizarre and uncommon problem it seems and I've seen information talking about everything from chainging settings, to having your power outlets checked for dips in voltage. Impossible to diagnose and would love to think it just has a defective power supply or other hardware malfunction but the more I read from other users, the harder it is to pin down the issue. Is windows 10 just garbage and causes random issues?

 

As users upgrade to Windows 10, they don't think of the things that come looking at it like updating/reinstalling drivers or reinstalling software.
After upgrading it often occurs that bugs have appeared from the upgrade, luckily a lot are gone when updating drivers but it just is sometimes a difficult troubleshooting process to narrow then everything.

 

fair enough, but mine was happening right out of the box, and still happened with updated bios, drivers, etc. oh well, hopefully i can get it sorted out soon

That usually means a hardware problems, but it sometimes could also mean that for example a peripheral is causing problems because of some compatibility problem or something. I can't tell what happened when it happened so I'm just guessing *Smile

just to post an update. after weeks of dealing with support over the phone, i finally convinced them to send it in for repair where they were apparently able to reproduce the issue during full diagnostics testing and blamed the problem on a faulty motherboard. motherboard was replaced and I'll post again in the coming days/weeks to give another update.

My issue was resolved by updating my motherboard's BIOS. I hope that helps.

 

I have similar issue and I think its my motherboard as I have 2 systems that are similar but diff motherboard and one doesnt disturb me at all

some folks have fixed their issu by changing their electricity outlet , hope that helps

hi all, I've been swapping the PSU with my friend's unit and so far, there's no restart happening anymore while playing games. Will continue to test for the whole week and I will come back and report my finding.

 

good to know, i have swapped psu,gpu,case, and still it happens. recently i turned of intel turbo boost and some settings in bios and oc my cpu to 5820k and so far no crash . kinda weird

 

it's been 2 weeks now since my motherboard was replaced and have not had a crash. I think the longest it went previous was a week(which was rare), so I think it's actually fixed

 

that is some good news, I have sent my motherboard for RMA too as I think that is faulty. and I am 80% sure of that as I have eliminated any prolems caused by gpu,psu,case,rams,hdd .

hopefully will receive some answers from technical team

 

I have been having the same issue, I have tried using a new PSU it made the time between reboots longer but that is it. Can anyone help me out?
