  1. Power Management

My power management is set to sleep/turn off display after 30 minutes of inactivity, whilst plugged in.

When I watch catch up TV e.g. QuestTV on dplay.co.uk the laptop goes to sleep (black screen) after 30 minutes, whilst the programme is still running. I do not consider this "inactivity"

Is it possible to prevent this without having to adjust the power management to never?

Win 10 home - Win ver 1903 build 18362.1139 (I am not downloading anything higher - 2004 - until I know it is safe)

    :)

    Hi,

Thank you posting in Microsoft Community. We appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

Step 1: I suggest you to remove all the external devices connected to the system, restart and check if the issue persists or not.

If issue still persists, try to run the troubleshooter and check if that helps:

Step 2: Run the Power Troubleshooter

    • Type “Troubleshooting” in the
Search bar on the desktop and press “Enter”.

    • In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.

    • Click on “Power”.

    • Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.

    • Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Hope it helps. Kindly update the status of this issue, we will be happy to help you.

  3. Platform Power Management CapabilitiesPower Management :pCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) Disabled

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand your concern with the battery report. Active State Power Management or ASPM is a power management protocol used to manage PCI Express-based serial link devices as links become less active over time. It is normally used on laptops and
other mobile Internet devices to extend battery life.

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    • What is the make and model of the PC?
    • Are there any devices connected to the computer?

Please respond to the private message with the required information for further investigation. However, we would suggest you to perform these steps.

Change the advanced power plan settings.

    1. Right click at Windows Start menu icon and select Control Panel.
    2. Set the View by to: Small icons.
    3. Click on Power Option, then click on Change plan setting.
    4. Select Changeadvanced power settings.
    5. Scroll down and expand PCI Express and
      Link State Power Management
    6. Change the option for both On battery
and Plugged in to Maximum power savings.
    7. Then click Ok.

    We await your response.

    Power Management

Overclocking / Undervolting guide for Vega 56 or 64?

    Here's a quick laundry list:

List of software to use for overclocking and testing
    Examples:
Wattman (and how to find and use it, like an overview, including profiles)
Unigine Valley or Heaven (use this for quick testing while changing settings in Wattman and checking for stability / artifacts) ...just suggesting this
How to monitor cores / mem speeds and temps during testing (I've seen screen overlays, and others using GPUz)

    Step-by step overclocking in Wattman
    Fan speeds
    Power limit
    Temp limit
    Voltages
    Core speeds
    Memory speeds
