    Power Surge On USB, but Integrated Webcam & Finger Print Scanner Not Working As Well....


    Sometime yesterday, I began getting Windows alerts that there is a power surge on one of the USB ports. In addition, this morning, I realized that the integrated camera and fingerprint scanner on my Lenovo T470p stopped working. I've been going through the internet all of today, trying to find something that will fix this issue. Neither the USB port, camera, or fingerprint scanner drivers appear in the device manager, so I cannot uninstall/reinstall them. I have attempted to use nearly all the Windows troubleshooters including the hardware one to no avail. I have even tried resetting my PC, which also did not work.


    There does not seem to be any damage to the ports, camera, or fingerprint scanner, so I do not think this is a hardware issue. I do not recall dropping my laptop in the past few days. Also, I have tried downloading the BIOS update software from the Lenovo support website, but that ended up telling me that no updates were needed. What could I still possibly try?

    Will finger print scanner work on Windows 10?

    I have a HP Pavilion dv6 with finger print scanner, primarily used for Windows login, will the finger print scanner still work after upgrading to Windows 10?

    Extra Info: Software installed is HP SimplePass, powered by AuthenTec.

    finger print scanner on window 10 home is not working

    OK so, when i first got this laptop , like 6 months ago, i would use the finger print scanner all the time to log in. but one day it just stopped working and i didn't pay attention to it. until recently I've tried to figure out why it wasn't working. so
    i went to setting but it said thr finger print scanner was unavailable. some pages requested for me to detach the type cover but i did not find how to do so because all the steps were not possible on my laptop. how can i fix it?
