Windows 10: power user depreciated , how to give non administrator user share folder permission in...

Hi as you know in windows 10 and 11 Power Users is deprecated. In my company we have 9000 Microsoft Clients with are joined to active directory.In advance I added some user to power user groups in windows 7 who wants to share older permission without give the administrator right and change other windows setting by them self. However in windows 10 I am not able to give a user share folder permission on their computer and i must add them to administrator groups in order to make share folder by them self and is not practical solution for large company and some user have higher right might instal

Sharing a Folder across Users

Hi, I'm David an independent advisor and user just like you. I'll do my best to help you with this.

I don't know what method you would have used to make the shortcut before so I'll explain the way I would do it:

1. Login as the second user

2. Open File Explorer and open the path: c: / Users / "Primary User" / Desktop

3. From that folder right-click the folder you want to make a shortcut to and choose Copy

4. Close your Explorer window

5. right-click on the Desktop and from the menu choose "Create Shotcut"

Depending on how your permissions are set-up you might get a prompt at step 2) when you try to open "Primary User" folder. If the second user is an administrator account the prompt should offer to fix the access to you can get in to the folder.

If the second account is not an administrator you may need to assign sharing permission to the folder first. You'd do that by logging in as the primary user, right-clicking the folder and use the "Share" option to give permission to the second user.

LAN computer set shared folder permission for a specific user

Hello everybody,

I need to set permission on a shared folder on a remote computer on my network. In the said action, I need to add a local user of that computer to the user list. I know that computer's local users' names but
cannot add them. Looks like I don't have permission from that computer to fetch users list to do so. How can I do that? I appreciate your help!

Removing a "hidden" user and user files

Thanks for your patience. I was able with "Net User" to remove the left over user. It no longer appears when I invoke Net User.

Now for the user's folder which remains behind. After performing the series of steps that you suggested, I attempted to delete this folder. The result again was an error message about permission


"Administrators" appears on the list in the list of advanced security.
