  1. Pre installed apps on Windows 10 Not working

    Hi,

I switched to windows 10 when I got a new PC almost about half a year ago. I was excited as I loved the GUI.

Once I switched though, I was having all sorts of issues such as:

    • Too many updates
    • the updates would slow down the computer keep reading to find out how it almost made me switch to LINUX
    • It would lag and slow down on the easiest and lightest of tasks such as simple commands in cmd

The issue I encountered was how slow it got after the updates. I remember in my head just thinking that this PC has 8GB RAM, CPU @3.10GHz, half a TB of storage while my previous PC 2 in desktop only had 2GB ram, 1TB HDD, Intel i3. I was disgusted at windows 10. My love for it started to perish. It wasn't long after an update restart I was logged into temporary account. Lost my work as i tried to fix the issue, it took me a couple of days to get it sorted out.

    • So number 1 thing to remember is if you can then always back up your work on cloud storage such as one drive.

Now if you back your work up and your PC gets corrupted then your still safe

I also has a problem with pre installed apps not opening, they were downloaded but didn't open, it would open and then a blank screen then it would automatically close. :

Quiet sad. I'll tell you the solution later on.

Later I downloaded python, Virtual Studio and what not, some of the stuff was abode pdf reader, the free version, now here is the problem, if you are going to download anything free then make sure you read the agreement, usually it's in bold and on separate that it says NORTON VPN will be downloaded and whatever other software.

I remember downloading this Adobe software for free, it was to do with pdf,, it was free as well, what I noticed after my download is that there was NORTON installed. :

It took a few days and figuring out and hard work to remove it because it was a pure virus that wouldn't delete at any cost

    • So 2nd tip, is know what additional software is being downloaded with your current one, and if you agree to download it the additional one then do some research beforehand because it will let you know if you can remove afterwards
    • If you going to download it them remove that software straight away afterwards from the system
    • It helps windows 10 running efficiently in my opinion

Now the biggest problem with my PC occurred was after this another huge update due to which there was a problem with my HDD, now this time for the solution you may leave your PC running over night but it doesn't work, it's rare I'd say that it would fix the issue, the problem by the way is that your HDD would has been busted, corrupted.

    • So now that's the case, reset the PC, F11 key, create media windows drive or widows installation media, whichever one you call it by, use a USB, then go through the process, and yes all your work is lost unless saved on the cloud.
    • Now what your basically doing is deleting the previous data, windows and re downloading a new windows 10. It will make your PC almost new.
    • If the download fails or there is a problem, the I'm sorry to say that what happened to my PC, yours has become the victim to it as well.
    • Now you have to change your HDD, it's better that you this time get a SSD then HDD because they're much faster, no moving parts and therefore less prone to damage.
    • Now once you have replaced the HDD with a new one or a new SSD instead then you may now create a windows installation media from a separate PC, go through the process and download windows 10. Put it simply then redownload windows 10

So talking of Linux, it's got military grade encryption and there are less viruses and hacks on the OS that it has suffered from but I couldn't switch because then you have to sacrifice photoshop and what not but you should still be able to get photoshop on Linux depending on what distro you use.

But I'm on windows 10 pro, and a quick tip, check the type and version for windows 10 so you know which one is best for your system.

Windows 10 is getting better but the update is my biggest problem and the slowing down of PC after updates.

Thank you everyone specifically those who read the entire message I wanted to share

    Take care

    Bye

Installing Windows 10 on Lumia 920

These are the official EASy steps on how to do it. How to install Windows 10 Preview to your Windows Phone

There very simple and i've already tried them. The problem that i face is that the software (this app) does not find any updates for me .
Many people across the world have this issues .So you need the proxy etc thing to get it to work.

Installing Windows 10 on Lumia 920

    I have a Lumia 920 mobile phone.
Found a list on the net with compatible phones that support Win 10. Mine is on that list.
Can't upgrade with the usual way.
Found help on this official website of developers for Windows Phones. It's a step by step no brainer thing. Most people are doing it. Except me. I can't get past point 6. HOWTO: Install Windows 10 for Phones on Non-supported devices (and other hacks)

"6.Connect to the same WiFi that your PC is on. Edit the settings for the WiFi connection to turn on the Proxy and set it to use the PC’s IP address and enter 8877 for the port "

    7. Open Internet Explorer on your phone and navigate to http://[pc.ip.add.ress]:8877 where [pc.ip.add.ress] is the IP address of the PC running the WPInsidersHacks app

No idea what this means.I guess i need to access the router and modify some settings in there. Some guy on the forum told me " think he means to use the local IP address of the pc. Go to cmd and type ipconfig and look for ipv4 address. Should be somethin like 192/......"

I did connect my phone as always via wi-fi to my router. But i have no ideea how to use that proxy or how to make my phone have the same Ip as computer. I did start WPInsiderHacks app on pc. This is what it looks like

Theres also this official Windows Phones
    It says this :
    1. Download the Windows Insider app.
Press ... > about > make sure Sys free space is 300MB or more.
If there isn't enough space, make full reset with Windows Phone Recovery Tool.

    Code:
    upwp10.chinacloudapp.cn:7777

    Download and install certificate.
    3. Edit WiFi connection, enable Proxy

    Code:
    upwp10.chinacloudapp.cn
    7777

    4. Open Insider app, click get builds
    5. You will get Enroll page, do not Enroll yet!
    6. Switch to WIFI settings, turn off proxy.
    7. Switch to Windows Insider app and now you can enroll for Windows 10 Technical Preview.
    Choose Fast option.
    8. Check Settings > Phone update.
If it can't find updates, you may need to reboot your phone and enroll again (without a proxy now).

Same thing with the proxy. Anyways the more detailed steps on the DEV forum are much better i think .Cuz they put out more info on how to do it.

Can anybody help me with step 6 ?

  4. Pre installed apps on Windows 10 Not working

    Windows 10 installing progs

I decided to take the plunge and upgrade to windows 10 from 7. I used the Media Creation Tool from MS website. It took awhile, but I am finally running Windows 10 (12-14).

I opened the new App & Program feature to remove programs that I no longer needed. Scrolling down the list, I was horrified! Apps that I didn't install somehow magically installed themselves. Two programs stood out: Facebook and Candy Crush Soda Saga. Both programs have those tale-tale icons that they came from Windows Store (which I've never even opened). The install date for both of them were on 12-26.

Is this a common thing for Windows 10? Or is it because I did an upgrade and not a clean install?
