Windows 10: Preparing auto repair death loop

Hi, i’ve been having this problem for a couple of days now and I think I need help.

Essentially, my computer is getting stuck on the preparing auto repair and doesn’t do anything after that. It then goes to my manufacturers logo with the spinning dots, and then it eventually goes back to preparing auto repair. I have not figured out a way to get to windows recovery environment/it won’t let me. I’ve even tried downloading windows onto a flash drive and booting from there, but it does the same thing.


At this point, the most progress i’ve made is turning the csm on in my bios which has been reading my flash drive differently. Without csm, there was only one option for booting my flash drive, but with it there was two. The only difference being the words uefi missing in the second version. In the csm version, I do get the windows logo with spinning dots, but it ends in dull error on a blue screen that essentially said something is wrong and resets.


I’ve pretty much only been able to get into my bios this whole time. Idk whether I should try to replace my hdd or get more ram or something, but I can’t find something different to try. This has happened before, but I took it in to be repaired last time. But since it seems to be recurring I want to fix it myself this time.

Preparing Automatic Repair/Diagnosing Your PC Loop

Hi,

To resolve your concern with continuously looping your system, we suggest that you follow the Startup Repair steps below:

• Turn off your computer.
• Turn on your computer. As soon as you see the Windows logo with the spinning dots, press and hold down the power button until your computer turns off. Do this process
  twice.
• Turn on your computer for the third time, and let it load.
• It should give you the message: Preparing Automatic Repair.
• On the next screen that would appear, click on Advanced Options.
• Select Troubleshoot.
• Go to Advanced Options.
• Click on Startup Repair.
• Wait for the repair to finish.

Preparing Automatic Repair loop

1) I created a USB boot disk via the Media Create Tool.

2) Powered on with that drive and it was indeed selected as boot. It blinked during startup but again went into loop. Similar to "Preparing Automatic Repair" loop except no such words. The loop now consists of just the Dell splash screen and a half circle
of dots below. Repeats forever.

Have I missed something or done something incorrectly? Any other suggestions?
