Windows 10: Preparing Automatic Repair loop, even after system restore

Hello. The Windows 10 HP laptop is always "preparing automatic repair" on boot.

It then says diagnosing pc and then gets to a screen saying it did not start correctly and there is restart and advanced options. In the advanced options I tried to do a system restore and it went through the process and said it was successfully restored

but then on reboot it went right back into automatic repair again.

I do not know how to fix this and cannot seem to find a fix anywhere. please advise. Thank you in advance for all of your assistance.

My "home" icon is missing from my taskbar

My computer was stuck in a preparing automatic repair loop. Had to restore. Now my "home" icon is missing from my taskbar. Is there way to retrieve?

 

Can't Launch Windows 10 - Automatic Repair loop

Hello,

Yesterday when shutting down the PC, and got the information that the system was going to perform an update and then shutdown.

Today, when trying to turn the pc I get stuck in an Automatic Repair loop. I can't seem to overcome such issue.

As soon as Windows is launched it starts an Automatic Repair that always ends with "Your PC did not start correctly".

Already tried:

- System restore (automatically created). After the restore point is loaded, it will request to Restart the pc which eventually always returns to the Automatic Repair loop.

- System restore (manually created). Exactly the same result as the above.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

 

My desktop PC very occasionally goes into auto repair on boot for no particular reason and there are no other errors indicated. A cold restart - shutdown, unplug PC then power on solves the problem.

Maybe removing your laptop battery then replacing it after several minutes may clear something in your configuration. Only do this if you feel competent.
