Windows 10: Print to PDF says in Settings/Printers it has an app available - now it's asking for a code

I noticed, while checking installed printers, that Microsoft Print to PDF has an app available:




But when I click to get the app, it brings me to the Store, for this MicrosoftPrinttoPDFSettings.



So is this a scam of some sort? I haven't "received" any code.

We suggest that you disable and re-enable the Print to PDF feature. Here are the steps:

• Click on the Start menu and type in Windows Features.
• Choose Turn Windows features on or off.
• On the next window, find Microsoft Print to PDF and disable it. Click
  OK to save changes.
• Restart your PC.
• Repeat the same steps to re-enable Microsoft Print to PDF.

Print to PDF missing in Printer List

Thanks for your help. I was browsing the web the other day and I found a page called FINAL DRAFT. They had a set of instructions for reinstalling the Microsoft Print to PDF utility that worked great for me. Problem solved.

 

Windows 10 will not print PDF files

Hi, I think I have found the problem. After the Windows 10 update yesterday, I couldn't print with my software that prints PDF. Others softwares can print documents like .docx and .xls.

I found that one of my printers which I install is "missing" in the list of printers but still available in the software's printer list. I made a change to another printer driver of the same printer as the default printer. And immediately all softwares are
able to print PDF. It is something related to the "missing" printer.

Suggest those with this problem to add a new printer setting and make it default printer.
