Windows 10: Printer error 0x0000007e

Suddenly on 3 of our laptops in the domain, the printers are not working anymore since 2 days.


As example, when I try to print a test page at the Microsoft Print to PDF - printer, I get this message:


Operation could not be completed error 0x0000007e.


The specified module could not be found.




I already tried to update driver etc, but no luck. Searching now for 2 days for a solution, and I cannot find. Any help will be appreciated!

Can't share printer—getting error message

Step 1: Go to store.
Step 2: Buy a less shitty printer.
Step 3: Pick up some beer while you are there.

In all seriousness, I have had more issues with Lexmark printers and their shitty drivers then any other manufacturer, HP is a close second though.

However, if you don't want to get a new printer*Laugh :laugh:, and I can understand that, when my Lexmark was giving me the same troubles in Win7(and Vista) I had to make sure the Windows firewall was ON and the firewall service was enabled and running. After I shared it I could re-disable the firewall and firewall services.

 

Printer Problem: Error 0x0000007e On Windows 10

My computer recently decided to stop connecting to the printer. I tired removing the printer, and then attempting to add it again. The problem is, whenever i hit add printer in the control panel menu i get an Error 0x0000007e. I have tried finding a fix,
but none are for windows 10. The picture shows what the error message looks like

Method 1:I would suggest you to run “Hardware and Devices” troubleshooter to diagnose the exact issue.

Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter:

• Right click on the start button.
• Click Control Panel.
• Select “Hardware and sound”.
• Next select Devices and printers.
• Right click on the device or printers which you need to troubleshoot and select
  troubleshoot and follow the onscreen instruction.

Method 2: Also you can update drivers from the Device Manager and check if it helps.

Follow the steps to update drivers from the Device Manager:

• Right click on Start button, type Device Manager andEnter.
• Find the drivers which needs to be installed and also see if there are any warning symbols. If yes update the drivers.
• Right click and click on Properties, and go to Driver tab and click on
  Update driver.
