Windows 10: Printer goes off line on Windows 10

This has recently been happening daily:


I send something to the printer and nothing happens.

At first it will show in the print queue as "Printing", but after a short time the message will change to "Out of paper", even though the tray has ample supply of paper.


So, I must

1. Cancel the job from the print queue, so that when the printer restarts, a ream of paper won't be churned out of the machine

2. Turn the power off at the plug, wait 15 seconds then restore power

3. Print the job again

and lastly

4. Hope that one day Microsoft will fix this annoying "feature" of Windows 10

HP printer network goes off line and stays offline.

Windows prints with lines, printer issues with Windows 10.

Method 1: Troubleshoot

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Printer. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Printer. Refer these steps:

  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
  
• 
  Run the Printer troubleshooter

PRINTER CONSTANTLY goes OFFLINE on Windows 10 computer.

Have the same problem with a KonicaMinolta 1650EN networked printer that has been working fine for 4 months with Windows 10 on a Lenovo E550. Just stopped midmorning today and says printer is off-line (HOWEVER IT IS PRINTING FOR OTHER COMPUTERS JUST FINE).

Tried the steps above under method 2 and there is no "new print queue" option on the "see what's printing page."

The only thing the Fix Printer Problems above suggests is to turn the printer on, but, IT IS ON AND PRINTING FINE for everyone else.

NOTE: The "use printer off-line" choice under the printer heading on my machine IS NOT CHECKED.

This is obviously a windows 10 issue and nothing noted above here helps.
