Windows 10: printer hanging after win 10 upgrade

Just upgraded to windows 10. When I print to a laser printer in an application, the printer prints fine but afterwards, the circle of death remains and my screen is hung it doesnt return control to user. I have to close/restart my app. The app worked perfectly before Win 10. It is a remote server ASP application if that matters.
I reinstalled drivers, what else could it be?? Thanks!

After upgrading to W-10, from W-8.1, whenever I give a print command, the printer hangs, Word doc(2007) does not start and in Control Panel, Devices & Printers command does not respond/hangs. After a lot of hits & misses, some sanity is restored.

 

Windows 10 is no longer sees my printer after upgrade from 7 to 10

After a successful upgrade from win7 to windows 10 , 10 has seen my printer and it has printed, but now doesn't print? the printer shows to be installed yet print jobs hang , it says that the printer needs to be reinstalled and I'm a little lost any suggestions????

 

What's the application? I found an older thread that dealt with this same issue for a POS program that the author wrote himself. Turns out timeout was set too long, and the application never returned control to the PC. Take a look and see if this might be relevant.

thanks,... thats exactly what this is, a point of sale pgm thru an ASP system. Printer does the same thing in 3 other applic. programs on the same system so its not application-specific.
