Windows 10: printer not print in color

1 I have a new wireless hp Officejet 3830 working with my lenova ideapad, with most recent windows update on it

2 My printer will only print in B & W/ greyscale, even when document on screen has color on it

3 It will print in color when a document is placed on the screen, and when it checks for alignment, etc

4 I can't find anywhere that shows printing preference: color/ B & W-- It used to be there on previous versions of Windows, but no longer on the print instructions page, or under printer properties

5 I have tried to contact HP multiple times-- the chat or the live person says, let me get back to you, and person (live or chat) does not get back in touch with me.

6 This is very frustrating, as I need to print my letterhead with color in it.

To be able to assist you better, let us know if you are able to print documents in other formats in color format.

As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to open the Print dialog box in Windows to access the settings for color profiles used in printer.

• Use the keyboard shortcuts Windows Logo + R to open the Run Command Dialog box
• Type in the command: shellrintersFolder
• Right-clicking on the printer and open the printer preferences, where you can choose options such as paper size and layout.
• 
  Select Print color which gives you options for Color or black-and-white (grayscale) prints.

Printer will not print color

For us to properly isolate your concern in printing, we would like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

As an initial resolution, we suggest that you run the printer troubleshooter. This is an automated tool that can
find and automatically fix some issues with your PC.

Printer will not print color

printer will not print color when i want it to. the test page prints color, shows color levels are good. i go to advanced settings and select color..but it automatically sets it back to monochromatic as soon as i exit the settings menu. will not print
anything for me in color.
