Windows 10: Printer not recognised correctly

Anyone got any idea why my Canon LBP7018c printer is recognised as a 'CAPT USB device' and comes up under 'other devices' rather than printers. Have got the most up to date drivers etc. Works OK on my older laptop, but not my newer one (HP250 G6), both running windows 10.

Hi - thanks for your suggestion. I have an (old !!!) EPSON Stylus Photo R300 which Win10 wouldn't recognise correctly or accept or list as a printer. EPSON UK and France don't even list it in their support pages any more! But using your Method 1 and manually
configuring Win10 to recognise my printer's existence and use its old drivers has sorted this for me. Thanks again!

 

Printer not recognised as a Scanner or that it can print on A3

I have recently moved back from Mac OS to and new laptop with Windows 10.

I have two printers and a different problem with each:

i) HP Officejet 6500 E709n - this is working fine but is not recognised as a scanner as well as a printer, so I am unable to scan documents.

ii) HP Officejet 7500A - this prints ok, but the printer properties do not recognise that it can print on A3 - it doesn't appear as an option in the paper sizes. When added as a device it is listed as Unknown-94-fb-b (HP Officejet 7500 E910)...not sure if
there is any significance in it being Unknown?

Both printer drivers are up to date.

Any suggestions? Both issues are really frustrating, but especially the second.

PC won't recognise printer via usb

Hi, my pc recognises printer but in other devices? Can't print anything as it doesn't show in printer list. Any help?
