Windows 10: Printer Not Responding

I use a Lenovo T450s laptop with Windows 10. I also have a wireless Canon printer, the TS6020 model. I've had the printer for several years and it's worked fine with the laptop. However, today I've been getting the error message "printer not responding" every time I try to print. I've rebooted everything (router, printer and laptop) to no avail. I also uninstalled the printer, removing all the Canon software and then reinstalled it again. That didn't help. I spend 45 minutes on the phone with Canon's tech support. The guy checked the printer settings and functionality and then told me the problem was with my laptop's operating system, not the printer. I can print documents using my iPad so I know the printer is working. I tried using Microsoft's printer-checking tool but that didn't find anything. My laptop updated its BIOS yesterday. Otherwise, nothing has changed since yesterday as far as I know. Windows does updates automatically so I'm not always aware of them. Can anyone tell me what might be causing the error message? I am sorry to know that you are having issues with Printer.

What and all steps have you tried so far?

Restart the computer and check.

Also, check for Windows updates.

I suggest you to run the Printer Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

  In Search window type Troubleshooting and click on it to open it.

  Click on Hardware and Sound.

  Then click on Printer to run the troubleshooter. Follow onscreen steps.

Have you tried the suggestions on my initial post, in response to the original poster? If you haven't performed any troubleshooting yet, here are a couple of things you can try:

• Power off, and then power on your printer to restart it. Wait for a while for it to be fully ready.
• Check your printer connection. Check your printer and make sure that it’s connected to your PC network.

If the steps didn't help, you may go through this list of suggestions to fix printer connection in Windows 10.
