Windows 10: Printer produces blank lines

I am operating an Epson Expression XP425 in Windows 10. I am not sure when the problem arose since I rarely use the printer. Printing a page of text I get a blank line approximatel every fourth line. I assumed this to be mechanical but have realised that using the copier function there are no blanks.

The "break" is crisp, I may get lines of text cleanly cut off at half height. What I have also realised is that, on my most recent test page, blocks of text that had been formatted to only cover part of the page width to allow a photo insert did not have gaps, nor did the photos.

I have tried contacting Epson and using the Windows "troubleshooter, without success. Any ideas?

After installing W10 my printer produces blank pages.

Hello

Since installing Windows 10 my printer produces blank pages. Actions so far...

Contacted OEM for Epson: updated latest driver and followed all their actions, can print their test page in full colour/B&W

followed the instructions for the windows printer fix, except the spooler delete files as I cannot find them using %windir%\System32\spool\PRINTERS,

So far I can print a test page but cannot print from the net, word or pdf.

Any further advice appreciated, thanks!!

I would suggest you to run “Hardware and Devices” troubleshooter to diagnose the exact issue.

Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter:

• Press “Windows key + X”.
• Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Search box and hit enter.
• Select “Hardware and Sound” from the Troubleshooter Window.
• Select “Hardware and Devices” under Devices option.
• Follow the On Screen instructions.

Method 2: Update the latest printer drivers and check if that helps:

Follow these steps:

• Press “Windows Key + X” from the keyboard.
• Type “device Manager” without quotes in the search box and hit enter.
• Right click on the printer drivers and select
  “Update”.

If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the latest printer drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
