Windows 10: Printers kicked off the network with Windows update

    Windows recently updated and now neither of my printers are on the network. I can't believe that this is a reasonable result of an automatic windows 10 update. How do I reconnect my printers in a fast and easy to understand way?

    Do let us know the following:

    • What is the make and model of your device?
    • How is the printer connected to the computer, locally or through network?
    • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue?

    I suggest you to try the below and check if it helps.

    Step 1: I suggest you to update the drivers for printer and check.


    • Right click on the Start button from the desktop and select
      Device Manager.

    • Locate and expand Print queue.

    • Right-click on the printer driver
      that is listed and click Update driver software.

    Step 2: I suggest you to run the printer troubleshooter from
    Fix printer problems
    and then check if this fixes the issue.

    To assist you better, please provide few details.


    • Is your printer is connected to wired or wireless network?

    • Are you able to view your printer on your network location?
    I would suggest you to try running Printer troubleshooter and check if it helps.

    Follow the below steps:


    • Type troubleshooting in the
      Search
      area on the taskbar.

    • Click on View all on the left panel of the Troubleshooting Windows.

    • Select Printer.

    • Follow the on screen instruction.
