    Printing Issue after recent update on Brother MFC-490CW


    Hi there,


    I have run the same system now for a number of years and print using a Brother MFC-490CW. Two months ago, a Windows update set to automatic caused the printer to completely stop printing and required an additional update to rectify the problem - the result being that now I have to wait for the printing to almost complete before being able to continue to do something with the program I am working with - which suggests a spooler problem. Yesterday 19/09/20 the system updated itself, after a power-up, and now, in Word, when printing a page it prints so far and then hangs - for upwards of a minute before eventually finishing the print. At the bottom of the screen right-hand side is a message that says '0 Printing Complete' and a box filled with a series of forward slashes. As the system is hanging this box appears to flash lightly - the printer is idle with a message saying 'Receiving Data'. What is the problem here and is there a fix? Have to say, I am a little annoyed that this is the second time that a Windows update has caused a problem - almost makes me wonder if it not best to ignore any future updates to maintain the integrity of a working computer. Any ideas?

    I just installed the Windows 10, 1909, x64 update. After a reboot, I am still unable to print to my Brother MFC-490cw.

    For those of you who had success with this solution, did you do anything after the Windows update installed?

    Brother MFC-490CW printer not printing from PC

    My Brother's Printer MFC-490CW still not printing. I called Brothers support and they recommended uninstalling KB4560960/KB4561608/KB4557957. Unfortunately it has pass the 10 days it was installed and I can't uninstall.

    Please help soon, I need my printer working.

    Thank you so much for posting the 2 updates. KB4567512 fixed the issues with my Brother MFC-490CW. After days of utter frustration I found these posts! I was ready to throw my printer out!
