Printing on both sides of a page

I have a Surface, Windows 10 and an HP printer. Recently, I no longer get the option to choose if I want to print on both sides. How do I get the option back?

    :)

  2. Printing web pages in Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for the update and apologies for late response.

    • Are you able to print via Internet Explorer 11?
    • What kind of contents and extensions do you want to print?
I suggest you to perform the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps:

Method 1: I suggest you to follow the steps below to print documents in the Windows 10 Edge browser and check if it helps:

    • Once the document is open in Edge, press
Ctrl+P or More actions button at the top last end of the browser.

    • Click Print as PDF button.

    • Check if the document prints as expected.
If the above steps did not work, try the next methods.

Method 2: Set your printer as default.

    • Press Windows key and type
      Control Panel
      .

    • Click on view by and select large icons.

    • Open Devices and printers.

    • Right click on your printer and select set a default printer.
Check if it helps. Please keep us posted on the issue. We will be happy to assist you accordingly.

  3. Networked Printer: How to print both sides?

Some printers may be duplex but don't support the command over network protocols.

On most printers (no duplexing), printing on "both sides" means print odd pages, user has to change the orientation of said pages, and then it prints even pages. They have a special sequence dedicated to the "both sides" process. If this is the case, after it is done printing odd pages, a dialog should pop up showing you how to put the paper back in and also tell you how to resume printing.

Print on both sides of a sheet

Duplex printing can be achieved on most printers even when not listed as an option. There are a couple of things to be aware of.

    1. Does the printer print on the top face of the paper or the lower? Most that feed from the back will print on the top, those that feed from the front and eject to the front will print on the lower face as held in the paper tray.

    2. Does the printer print the last page 1st (collated mode)

Using that information and printing odd pages separately from even pages it is normally possible to achieve double sided printing.
