Windows 10: Privacy W10 Mobile

Hi All,

Anybody noticed that W10 Mobile sends enormous amount of telemetry data to MS? I am not a heavy user but in a week my phone like to send about 6mb of data when i connect to wifi, i mean 6mb that is a lot of text.

Anybody knows in what format it send its data to MS?

I'm a privacy advocate and performance stickler and see nothing in the Suggested Settings that has affected my privacy or performance for three years with Windows 10 previews and RTM.

Thanks for the link, i am baffled that indeed screenshots are taken and send to ms, this is spying and has nothing to do with telemetry to make the os better but pure to see what everybody is doing on his phone or pc, they know everything. Can you imagine that cars are stuffed with the same with excuse ye we like the telemetry to make the car better. we only use it for our own use. We only send everything that you do with your car including where you go and stop and taking pictures who will get in the car and get out of the car.

 

It sounds like you have apps that are synching to One Drive. I have all of that disabled and never see any traffic like you describe.

@ PJLLB i dont use onedrive, telemetry will only be send to ms if you use wifi, when using lte or 3g ms is not allowed to use that because that uses to much data of your account if you just have 1 gb per month and have to pay for it. So before i switch to wifi i delete the telemetry and then you see how much data is send what was building up when your not using wifi.
