Windows 10: Problem after "Internal SATA Drives show up as removeable media" fix

I had a problem with my SSD showing up as a removeable drive. It always seemed like there were hesitations with that drive so I thought I should fix the proble. To do so, I followed this Microsoft recommendation: Internal SATA Drives show up as removeable media

This is the recommendation I followed:

"Type the following command in the previously opened command prompt and hit Enter:
reg.exe add “HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\storahci\Parameters\Device” /f /v TreatAsInternalPort /t REG_MULTI_SZ /d x"
where, in my case, x=1

Since doing this, the SSD does not show up as a removeable drive but HD activity light comes on for long periods (20 - 30 seconds) during which nothing appears to happen and keyboard and mouse button inputs are not accepted. Any ideas how to fix this?

I'm running Windows 10 Pro, Ver 1909, OS build 18363.693.

Remove Internal Hard Drive From Safely Remove Hardware And Eject Media

I have an older computer, and have had trouble getting working SATA controller drivers for it, so I have had to revert the Marvell SATA/RAID driver back to Standard SATA AHCI Controller driver. Doing this has fixed my problems mostly, but now my internal hard drives show up in the Safely Remove Hardware And Eject Media list.

Apart from reverting back to troublesome Marvell drivers, what is the best way to to hide these internal drives from showing up in the Safely Remove Hardware And Eject Media list?

After clean install of Win 10 ver 1803 two (2) internal hard drives now appear in taskbar as removable and in fact can be removed....neither are the primary drive but backup drives....anyone else having this situation...have attempted registry changes as outlined below but does not resolve issue.

BIOS updates not possible due to age of mobo….everything worked fine prior to ver 1803
