Windows 10: Problem changing keyboard settings

Hello.

I had recently changed the hotkeys for language changing in my keyboard settings and I found out that they dont suit me. However, Windows doesn´t let me make another change and a window pops up saying that I do not have the appropriate permission to change these settings. It doesn´t offer me to type the admin password in order to make the change or unlock advanced settings or anything of that kind. I have only one account on Windows that I use and I never enter as a guest user.


I am a new Windows user and am not sure if I understand well how things work here.


Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

How do I change the default keyboard from handwriting to typing on Windows 10

• What is the make and model of your computer?
• Have you enabled the tablet mode settings on Windows 10?

Kindly follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Turn off on screen keyboard

• Open Start menu, type Settings in search bar and click on Settings.
• Click on Ease of access and select keyboard.
• Turn off the on screen keyboard.

Step 2: Turn off tablet mode

I suggest you to turn off tablet mode, as it may also be the cause for the issue.

• Open Start menu, type tablet mode settings in search bar and click on it.
• Turn off the tablet mode option and check if it helps.

Keyboard problem in Windows 10

I suggest you to check if the issue persists when you connect another keyboard to your system.

If the issue is with the keyboard, then suggest you to update the keyboard drivers by following the steps below.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager from the list.
  
• 
  Expand ‘Keyboard’ from the list.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and select ‘update driver software’ and follow the prompts.
