    Hi there,I recently purchased a PC with Windows 10 installed. I added several parallel port adapter cards to this machine so that I can send TTL pulses to external devices I work in academic research. After installing the adapter cards and their associated drivers, the LPT ports appear in the Device Manager. However, the address for each is listed as 0000000. So, I cannot really send anything to these ports because I don't have the addresses. This makes my machine basically useless for my purposes. Has anyone encountered this problem and does anyone have a fix? I am quite stuck on this.I hav

    Finding Parallel Port Address on Windows 10

    Hello,

    I'm trying to link my computer's parallel port to some hardware, but I'm unable to find the address for the parallel port. When I open the Device Manager and select Ports (COM & LPT) I see 3 ports:

    Communications Port (COM1)

    SUNIX COM Port (COM3)

    SUNIX LPT Port (LPT3)

    Only the first one has a Resources tab, which provides the I/O Range. I believe I need the LPT3 port, when I tried looking at the address under Property in the Details tab, all I saw was a bunch of zeros.

    Is there a simple way of going about this? Because I haven't been having any success so far.

    Posts on some forums suggest that Microsoft has killed LPT (parallel port) support in Windows 10 whereas another post I saw indicates that Microsoft has fixed this problem due to pressure from businesses that still need parallel support. I am such a
    business. I must have LPT support for legacy software and an HP LaserJet 6P for the new computer I'm getting (which does have an LPT port). This is not optional since the old software will not work with USB and new printers. Can anyone definitively tell
    me whether LPT/Parallel ports are or are not currently usable in Windows 10 (64-bit)? Thanks for any help.

    You're welcome! My parallel port is a PCI card with an LPT port. When I originally purchased it I was running Windows 7.
