    Problem with Bluetooth Headsets


    Hi, i'm having issuses in Windows 10 with my new Bluetooth Headphones.

    I want to start saying i brought the Sony MDR-XB950B1 and, considering also my PC doesn't have Bluetooth, i brought also an ASUS BT-400 adapter with Broadcom Chipset. I plugged the Bluetooth adapter, and installed it with the drivers directly downloaded from the Asus website; than i did the Bluetooth paring.

    Now, after the paring i saw that in the output devices the Headphones appears two times: As MDR-XB950B1 Hands Free, and as MDR-XB950B1 Stero, while in the Input devices they just appears like MDR-XB950B1 Hands Free.

    The default device for Audio Output is MDR-XB950B1 Stereo, with the MDR-XB950B1 Hands Free as Default Device for Communication.

    The problem is that when i open any app that uses the microphone (like Skype, Discord, TeamSpeak or any game that uses the Microphone also), the audio stops working; the only way to solve is to go to the sound options, in the Output devices, and select the MDR-XB950B1 Hands Free as default device. Only in this case i don't have any issues with the output, but the audio quality drops significantly, and it's really bad considering the cost of these Headsets.


    How can i solve this problem?

    • Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:
    • Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
    • Click OK.
    • What is the make and model of your headset and Bluetooth dongle?
