    Problem with Cloning Win10 partition?

I used Macrium Reflect Free or Minitoll to clone system disks every time I need it, and usually it was without problems.
In this situation it failed. I need to upgrade to a bigger disk 120>250. Both programs reported an error and failed to finish. Source disk is OCZ ssd and after I checked it in windows it didn't reported any errors. Destination disk also dont report errors so I dont know what is the problem.

After that I tried with Paragon, program reported that it found an error and ask to fix it, after I chose OK, it said it fixed errors and at the end „completed cloning successfully“.

After cloning I dont see cloned drive in Win.explorer. I dont know is it how Paragon software usually do? When I look in partition manager I can see it, it is not marked as boot and is not assigned drive letter.

Now I am not sure is it cloned ok, but it appears to be that it cloned it.
What to do next so that I wont have to do all process all over again? How to fix it so it boot from cloned drive? What tool is recommended nowadays to boot from usb and try to fix this drive so it can boot?

(Pardon me, I cant provide any screenshots or any more info right now I am not next to that PC.)

    :)

clone MBR HD to bootable GPT partition?

My HP Vista laptop took a swim and died. I pulled the 320MB HD, put it in an external enclosure and found it still good. Bought a new Dell Win 10 machine w/ 1TB HD. Plan was to:

    • Partition off a piece of the new 1TB w/ native Win10 Disk Management.

    • Clone the 320MB Vista drive into the new partition w/ Easeus Partition Manager.

    • Run Paragon-adaptive-restore on the Vista partition.

    • Set up as dual-boot Win10 / Vista.
Ran into problems right away. Apparently can't clone the MBR HD to a GPT partition and have it remain bootable. Don't see a way to do this without wiping the new Dell 1TB clean – which I'm hesitant to do, especially since I'm about 6000 miles from
    home right now.

    • What's the solution to cloning the MBR drive to a bootable GPT partition?

    • Am I on the right track? I really want to preserve this Vista installation - I have 30+ years of data in legacy programs on it that would be very difficult to access in Win10.
    TIA

    partition cloning help!

Well I just bought a SATA seagate 320gb 7200.10 hard drive. I had to get a power adapter, but anyway. It's in as Drive F (did disk management). Now all I want to do is clone the partition from my old hard drive to my new hard drive. Copy windows and everything else over on my new hard drive, take out my old drive and then use the new drive as the primary C drive. I have norton ghost, and partition magic. I heard ghost is much better. Could someone tell me step by step how to accomplish this? I think I know how, but I do NOT wanna take any chances here..

    Problem with Cloning Win10 partition?

Activation options for Win10 with instant clones

We have a secure (no internet access) lab environment setup to test and validate a VMWare VDI deployment of Win10 clients.

Our issue is activation of the Win10 clients as they require re-activation every time we logoff and back on because we are using instant clones.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to resolve this? Here are the options we are considering and issues as we understand them:

    • Setup a KMS server
      • Requires a Volume license, which is doable
      • Documentation says we must have a minimum of 25 hosts, we don' have that in our lab
    • Use our MSDN account
      • No support for Win10 KMS license
      • No support for MKS activation
    • Manually activate each time
      • Gonna spend a lot of time on the phone Problem with Cloning Win10 partition? :(
      • Win10 has no grace period so machines are crippled w/o activation
Anyone have a thought or suggestions? I'm hoping I missed something.

    Thanks
