Windows 10: Problem with dual monitor screen resolution

In Windows 10 with a IntelR Hd Graphics. Both are identical hp monitor with same 1920 x 1080 native resolution.


When I extend the display, for some reason both monitors take on the primary monitor's native resolution, leaving black bars above and below the work area on the older monitor. After updates and restart, the primary monitor shows 1920 X 1080 resolution but the other monitor shows 1280X1024. Even though both have native resolution of 1920 X 1080.I cant change it in settings as it only shows 1280X 1024 for other monitor.I tried deleting an installing drivers.Nothing worked.The current driver version is compatible I guess I cant figure out how to revert back since the revert back changes option is grayed out. The monitor says input signal out of range.


Current mode H=75.5 KHz, V=60 Hz

Change mode to 1980X 1080

and Display goes to sleep.

Second monitor screen resolution problem

What exactly happens when you try to change the screen resolution? Do you get any error message?



The recommended resolution on windows 10 is 1920 x 1080. Change the resolution to 1920 x 1080 and check.

The reason why your display was stretched sideways is because the resolution was in-corrected.



Here are the steps to change the screen resolution:

• Right Click the Desktop and select
  Screen Resolution.
• Click the Make text and other items larger or smaller link.
• In the Change only the text size section click the
  drop down menu to select the items you want to change.

Since I sent you the last message I restarted my computer and lo and behold the problem is resolved. The screen is perfect. I am not sure what I did but whatever it was worked.
