    Problem with Folders View on WIN10


    Having a minor problem with the Folder view on the Photos app in WIN10. Just did a clean install of WIN10. The OS sits on an SSD, and my OneDrive Pictures folder sits on a HDD.


    I moved the default locations of Pictures, Documents and Videos from the SSD C:\ drive to my HDD D:\ drive.


    I then added D:\OneDrive\Photos as a folder to the Photos app.


    When open Photos, I can see all of my photos in the Collection view. However, there is no icon for the folder in the Folder view. I have tried manually adding folders to the Folder view, but nothing happens and no icon appears. However, if I go into Settings for the Photo app, it lists these folders as added and I can see the photos in the Collection view.


    Any thoughts as to why Photos would show up in Collection view and the added folders would show as added under Settings, but the icons would not show up on the Folder view?


    I have run Windows App troubleshooter and it did not detect any problems.

    Te new folder has default view of LIST

    I want DETAILS

    When making new system ... it's a pain in ass changing always.

    Did you download and run Brink's .bat file in Step 1 ? Lacking that, look at the screens in post 3. In Step 5 'folders of this type' defaults to each of the Windows templates for Pictures, Music, etc. If you want ALL folders to have the same List view, r-click any folder in each of the 5 folders under This PC (Desktop does not apply) and hit 'Customize this folder'. Set to 'Optimize this folder for General Items". Then follow the screen in post 3 using List instead of Details in Step 1 and you should be good to go.

    Problem with Folders View on WIN10

    Folder view issue


    I want my folders (and subfolders) to stay in List view but they keep changing to Details view.

    I have tried View>Options>Apply to Folders many times but it doesn't stick.

    Any suggestions?
