    Problem with graphics driver/adaptor

So I had to replace my hard drive in my laptop as the old one stopped working, when I got the new drive I had to install windows onto it, when it had been installed everything seemed to work fine at first but after a small period of time the screen got a stutter, I looked into it but couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, after disabling the the graphics driver under the display adaptor in device manager it fixed the stutter problem but created it's own problems in the process not being able to adjust the brightness of the screen and not being able to put the computer in sleep mode, does anyone know how to fix this problem? It would be much appreciated.

    :)
