    problem with keyboard layout creator 1.4


    after creating my layout which was a lightly modified version of qwerty for slightly faster typing, i ran the setup and the keyboard layout was working. but, i realized i had forgot the shift keys and went to fix that, i created it again under a different name, went to the folder, but this time the setup folder wouldn't open. it would open for just a tiny moment less then a second and then it would close. this didn't happen the first time i ran the setup. i looked up why this happens and went to a forum here about some gaming mouse application or drivers. he said the 2nd method of fixing helped which was creating a new user and attempting to run it on the new user. i tried this and it did not work. im going to restart my computer and if that fixes it i will come back and inform to anyone who responds. if not, i will be responding to people about 5 minutes from the post going up.

    1. What is the version of Windows that you are using?

    Based on my search, I see that the Microsoft Keyboard Layout creator is applicable for Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows XP Service Pack 1, and Windows XP Service Pack 2.

    Here is the
    system requirements information     for Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator 1.4

    Follow the below steps, and try to install the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator.

    1. Press 'Windows key + R' to open 'Run Command'.

    2. Type 'appwiz.cpl' without quotes, and press enter.

    3. In the 'Programs and features' window, click on 'Turn Windows features on or off'.

    4. Enable '.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)' option.

    5. Click on 'OK'.

    Follow the on-screen prompts, and restart the system if required. This will install the .NET Framework feature. Try to install the MS Keyboard Layout Creator, and check.

    Cannot remove Keyboard Layout

    Hi,

    It is possible that you need to configure your keyboard layout that is why you still see it in the list even you already remove it. To address your issue, we suggest that you follow the steps on this

    thread     provided by DikkeryDok last October 27, 2017 to remove the specific keyboard layout you are referring to.

    • Are you trying to use the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator? If yes, what happen when you launching the app?
