Windows 10: Problem With Snipping Tool & Desktop

I always save snipits to my desktop ,because I'm usually only taking the snipit to post to this forum ,and then I delete them ,,and I don't have an issue with having to refresh desktop on any of my win10 computers
when I first started reading this thread I was thinking there was some confusion between snipits and screenshots in some of the suggestions .,,because screenshots are defaulted to the picture folder !

 

Yes that's were mine always go, because I don't change them to my desktop. Just incase you didn't know, you can just use your F5 key to refresh the desktop, its quicker. *Smile

 

F5 ok, but I rarely have to refresh it ,my file explorer remembers my choice of the desktop and doesn't revert back to the Pictures folder .I only put them in the picture folder if I know I want to keep them

 

So, I'm on 14271 and I just saved a snip to my desktop. I had to refresh to see it. *Sad

 

You need to be on 14279.

 

I'm using 10586 and don't have to refresh desktop

Maybe it depends on which Desktop you pick to save too? I have three listed in file explorer. One in Quick Access, another listed right under that, and one shown under This PC. The one listed under This PC is my C:\Users\Kerry\Desktop folder, the other one shows more icons in it, it includes the system icons.

 

Interesting, as I only show 1 desktop, under This PC. When looking in file explorer.

 

Ok didn't see those other 2 because their were closed, now that you made me looker deeper, lol, yes I have 3 desktops, like you just showed. But everyone is the exact same, as I am the only user on this PC. So it should not matter which desktop I choose, as they all point to SAME ONE in my case. *Smile

 

Same here, I would think it would be saved in C:\Users\ your username\desktop. I don't normally save anything to my desktop. I have it set to hide the Icons. I have some custom shortcuts there, but only so I can pin them to my taskbar and start menu. My user folders are all moved to my Data drive.

 

I just noticed, refresh is needed also in other locations on other things too. Like I was in "Downloads" folder & working in MKVmerge software, converting avi to mkv & extracting converted file in the same location (Downloads folder) & when it finished, it didn't show extracted file until I didn't refresh. This sucks! I have to refresh folders & desktop to see new files...
